04 Feb 2011 - Tonight CBC Marketplace is scheduled to do a program on roofing contractors in Canada entitled 'Hitting the Roof'. We have not seen it yet but we reviewed CBC's check list of how to avoid getting ripped off by your roofer and are pleased for our customers to know that we can answer every one of the questions confidently:
1. What training and experience do you have?
Epic Roofing & Exteriors Ltd has been a limited company in Calgary since 2003. In the last eight years we have completed around 10,000 projects in Calgary and area, including approximately 7,000 roofs. We are also trusted as a preferred contractor by a number of major insurance companies in Alberta. We train all of our own crews to ensure that the quality of our work meets our own standards of quality and the Alberta Building Code. Download the related document at the bottom of this page.
2. How long has this company been in business?
As noted above, we have been operating as a limited business in Alberta since 2003. Our Calgary Business Licence is 120739. We also hold business licences for a number of towns in the area. Since 2003 Epic has grown into more than a roofing company, currently offering siding, eavestroughing, soffit, fascia, cladding, and flat roof (torch-on membrane) services.
4. Can I see a copy of liability insurance and workplace safety insurance coverage?
Epic Roofing & Exteriors Ltd is licensed, bonded, and insured. Our WCB account # is 4848311. We have umbrella liability coverage with Rogers Insurance Ltd. and have recently secured the appropriate insurance coverage necessary for hot-roof applications in Alberta. 5. Can you give me contact information for past customers as a reference?
In keeping with our company’s privacy policy we do not freely distribute our customers' contact details. We also encourage homeowners to contact the Alberta Allied Roofing Association and the Siding Contractors Association Alberta for comments about our reputation in related industries.
We encourage all homeowners to think carefully before hiring a roofing contractor, especially if the repairs are related to an insurance claim. It is best if property owners begin the process of dealing with hail damage claims or other damage claims by contacting their insurance company first. Be sure to ask if Epic is a preferred contractor with your insurance provider. We would be pleased to submit an estimate for repairs to your insurance company as requested.
